COUNTRY ROAD IS FINISHED IN THE VILLAGE OF MRAMORSKI POTOK

Villagers of Mramorski Potok will now have easier and quicker access to their land, as these days are ending the making of long country road one mile stretch, on the so-called "Legalo." This is just one of the roads that will be finished until the month of June in the rural area of the municipality of Palilula and the City of Nis."Instead of traveling to the fields for half an hour, now I will need about five minutes. This time it was full of holes, and when it rains we often jam the machinery in mud- says Vladica Marinkovic from Mramorski Potok. The inhabitants of this village, which has about 90 households, are grateful to the municipality of Palilula that regulated this road, because, as they say, all farmers should have these conditions.

President of Municipality of Palilula Boban Džunić and deputy chief of the Nis Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Ljubisa Stojanovic visited the completion of the arrangement of field road at Mramorski Potok.

"In the municipality of Palilula, during this year it will be done approximately 6.5 kilometers of roads and up to half of planned this year, and the works are worth about 4.5 million. Due to bad country roads nobody is gaining anything,  producers and consumers. The municipality of Palilula, in its strategy and Action Plan to 2016 has provided help to revive the rural area and villages, some of which are expected in the future to be the basis for sustainable development of Palilula and City of Nis. This is just one kind of help to the rural area and I hope that these works will be done within the deadlines and will be well executed - said the president of Municipality of Palilula Boban Džunić.

According to the Deputy Chief of the Nis Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Ljubisa Stojanovic, Ministry of Agriculture approved the City of Nis resources of 5.700 000 dinars for decorating the surface of 26.km country roads in the area of all five city municipalities. This investment totaling 19,700 000 is supported with funds from the city budget from 14,000 000. Our Department of Agriculture has submitted a request to continue this year with making of field country roads in the length of 30.km, and we expect appropriate support to the relevant ministries.

"After a few years they had something to work on the territory of our village Mramorski Potok, said Dragoslav Stamenkovic. This is what our village is supposed to look before joining the European Union. I would like to thank the Mayor of Palilula which supported the initiative of the Council of citizens of the village. We value arranging these roads, earlier it was only mud and planted wheat and corn. Now it is easier to get to the field.
